Dr. Marijke Braeken serves as a Practice Assistant and Temporary Academic Employee at Hasselt University's Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy. She holds council positions as Ombudsman for Examination Boards across Bachelor's and Master's programs in Rehabilitation Sciences, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy Science, while actively contributing to the Rehabilitation Sciences Research Group and Biomedical Research Institute.
Her research centers on Health Psychology and Psychophysiology, with specialized focus on lifespan biopsychosocial modeling, health promotion/communication strategies, and multidisciplinary pain management.
