About
Mariia Razguliaeva is a Visiting Professor and PhD candidate in Slavic Studies, focusing on corpus-based and experimental approaches to language research. Her work bridges syntax, semantics, and pragmatics, with a special interest in language change. She is affiliated with the project B06 'Register in the cross-linguistic diachrony of logical particles' and the Integrated Graduate School (MGK). Her research explores the interplay of illocutionary force, polarity, and prosody in Russian and Slovak decision questions, emphasizing historical developments of polarity phenomena and negative concord items in Russian.
Her Master's thesis analyzed register influences on null subjects in Old Russian texts. Current projects investigate register's role in historical shifts of polar-sensitive phenomena, combining diachronic and cross-linguistic perspectives.
