Mariel Meier

Dr. Mariel Meier is an Associate Professor of Physics and Division 3 Chair at Oglethorpe University. She holds a B.A. in Physics from Smith College (2006) and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Colorado (2012). Her research focuses on solar wind interactions with Jupiter and Saturn's magnetospheres using spacecraft data and computational models. Additionally, she specializes in curriculum development for biology and pre-health students, integrating primary literature into introductory physics courses. Courses taught include General Physics, Modern Physics, Thermal Physics, and Computational Physics.
