Marieke van Otterdijk is a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Communication Science, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and affiliated with the Network Institute. Her research focuses on human-robot interaction, particularly developing robot interventions for children with ASD, analyzing human intuition during robot interactions, and studying how robot design influences user perception.
Education: PhD in Informatics from the University of Oslo (2021–2024), Master's in Industrial Design from Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (2018–2020).
Research Interests: Human-Robot Interaction, cognitive robotics, nonverbal communication, social robots, and robot design ethics. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals addressing education and innovation.
