Marie Segrave is a criminologist at Monash University, where she leads the Trafficking and Slavery Research Group (TSRG) in partnership with Monash University Business School and works with the The Border Crossing Observatory. She serves as Deputy Director of the Monash Migration and Inclusion Centre and is affiliated with the Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre.
Research Focus: Marie's work examines the intersections of migration, labor regulation, exploitation, and abuse, with a focus on human trafficking, slavery-like practices, and family violence. She employs a feminist critical criminology lens to challenge legal and policy assumptions, prioritizing stakeholder collaboration for societal impact.
