Marie-Pierre Planche

Marie-Pierre Planche is a Professor at the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard (UTBM), affiliated with the Department of Ergonomics, Design and Mechanical Engineering. She works within the ICB Laboratory’s PMDM and LERMPS teams, focusing on metallurgical processes, sustainability, and materials research. Her academic career includes a 2009 HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) in her field and a permanent lecturer position since 2000.

Research interests include metallurgical process optimization, plasma spray technology (from her 1995/96 postdoctoral work at the University of Minnesota), and sustainable materials engineering. She earned her doctorate in 1992 at the University of Limoges with a thesis on plasma torch fluctuations and arc dynamics.
