Marie-France Nelson is a Senior Lecturer at the Grossman School of Business, University of Vermont. She holds an MBA from the University of Houston-Victoria and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas. Prior to academia, she worked in sales and marketing across ski, pharmaceutical, and business strategy industries, and consulted for startups. Her teaching emphasizes real-world applications, integrating assignments aligned with internship/job needs and collaborations with local/international companies. She has taught marketing courses for 10 years at St-Michael’s College and Champlain College before joining UVM.
Active in academic leadership, she serves on the First-Year Experience team, advises the Grossman Undergraduate Case Competition, and coaches the UVM Dressage Team. She designs courses with guest speakers to expose students to professional expertise. Beyond academia, she is an avid equestrian (dressage), half-marathon runner, and traveler, originally from Montreal, Canada.
