Marianne Bitler

Marianne Bitler is a full Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics at the University of California, Davis. She is actively involved in multiple academic and policy-oriented networks, including serving as a Faculty Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a Research Fellow at IZA, and an Affiliate of the Institute for Research on Poverty at the University of Wisconsin. Additionally, she co-edits the Journal of Human Resources and contributes to the governance of the Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID) as a Board of Overseers member.

• Research Focus: Her work spans economic demography, health economics, and public policy, with particular attention to safety net programs, education outcomes, and inequality.
