Marianna Strzelecka

Marianna Strzelecka is a Researcher in the Socio-environmental Research Team within Jagiellonian University's Faculty of Biology. Her interdisciplinary work bridges sustainable tourism, nature protection, and rural community development.

Her research focuses on political dimensions of sustainability, particularly community participation and empowerment in post-communist societies. She examines how tourism shapes community-nature relationships, protected area governance, and environmental justice frameworks.

Dr. Strzelecka's publications explore place attachment dynamics, economic benefit perceptions in tourism, and conservation volunteer motivations. Her methodological approaches include PPGIS mapping and large-scale social surveys across Central and Eastern Europe.
