Maria de Lurdes Silva

Maria de Lurdes Silva is a Senior Lecturer in the Mathematics Department at Porto Accounting and Business School (ISCAP), Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Portugal, and an Associate Researcher at the CEOS.PP Research Center.

She holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Porto. Her research bridges mathematical rigor with educational innovation through:

• Learning Analytics for student performance modeling
• Advanced Time Series Analysis techniques
• Computational Simulation frameworks
• Quasi-Monte Carlo Methods for optimization

As a CEOS.PP researcher, she contributes to projects like MatActiva that develop active-learning methodologies, leveraging her dual expertise in quantitative analysis and pedagogical design to address challenges in modern mathematics education.
