Maria Warne

Maria Warne is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Health Sciences (HOV), Mid Sweden University. She coordinates the Supported Education initiative, providing pedagogical support for students with mental health challenges.

Research Interests: Health promotion for schoolchildren and young adults, photovoice methodology, school environments as health settings, participation dimensions, and empowerment frameworks. Her work focuses on qualitative health research and participatory visual methods.

Key Collaborations: Leads the 2022-2024 IDE-project (Influence, Participation, Empowerment for youth with intellectual disabilities) with interdisciplinary involvement from the Departments of Health Sciences and Design.

Teaching Areas: Health Promoting Working Life, Rehabilitation Methods, Participation and Social Change, and Scientific Methods.
