Maria Sanchez Martinez

Maria Sanchez Martinez is an Adjunct Professor at the Audiovisual Communication and Advertising Department within the Faculty of Humanities and Communication Sciences at Universidad CEU San Pablo. She is a Doctor in Communication and directs the Digital Communication Degree program at her faculty.

• Research focuses on Smart Cities, digital accessibility for elderly citizens, IoT, Big Data, and digital literacy in vulnerable populations.
• Led the pre-competitive research project 'Smart Cities: Problemas de accesibilidad a los contenidos digitales en ciudadanos de edad avanzada' (FUSP-BS-PPC17/2014), evaluated as 'Bueno' by ANEP.
• Active in interdisciplinary research groups INCIRTV and ESCUR at Universidad CEU San Pablo.

Her work spans public and private sector projects, including research funded by the Junta de Castilla y León and private institutions. She has presented at international conferences such as ECREA, ICT&S Center (Salzburg), and Sociedad Española de Periodística (SEP), and authored chapters in collective works focusing on digital developments in public institutions within Smart Cities, particularly cultural and tourism contexts (Smart Destinations).
