Maria Rincon Calero

Maria Rincon Calero is an Associate Teaching Professor at the School of Arts and Sciences, Tufts University, where she has served since 2014. She previously held roles as Senior Lecturer (2020–2024) and Lecturer (2014–2020) in the Department of Romance Studies.

Maria’s research focuses on Spanish Romantic literature, historical fiction, and foreign language pedagogy, with a particular emphasis on integrating digital humanities and technology in language teaching. Her publications analyze 19th-century Spanish narratives and the intersection of literature and history.

Her recent scholarly work includes studies on Romantic tales, historical biographies, and cultural periodicals. She has actively contributed to pedagogical innovation through workshops on Canvas integration, intercultural communication, and digital edition tools.
