Maria Persson

Maria Persson is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, School of Economics and Management, Lund University. Her research focuses on international trade, economic integration, and interdisciplinary projects in forestry and biodiversity. She collaborates on studies such as the impact of infrastructure like the Öresund Bridge on trade, EU trade policies' effects on developing countries, and ecological aspects of forest management.

Teaching includes intermediate and master-level courses in economic integration, with extensive supervision of bachelor's and master's theses. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to sustainable consumption and production (SDG 12) and life on land (SDG 15).

Recent projects include analyzing Nigeria's trade dynamics under EU agreements and studying drought impacts on coniferous tree physiology. She is part of research networks like the FORCE Center for Food Resilience and Competitiveness, and the International Economics and Development Economics project.
