About
Maria Natasha Rajah is a Professor at McGill University, affiliated with the Douglas Mental Health Institute. Her research focuses on understanding the neurobiological mechanisms of episodic memory across the adult lifespan, particularly examining prefrontal and medial temporal cortices. She employs behavioral experiments and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to study neural activity changes in healthy young, middle-aged, and older adults during memory tasks.
Research goals include: (1) elucidating the neurobiology of episodic memory in young adulthood, (2) investigating age-related brain changes and their impact on memory, (3) identifying neural mechanisms for optimal memory in older adults, and (4) developing clinical methods to improve memory in those with deficits.
