Maria Mercedes Ferrando Prieto

Maria Mercedes Ferrando Prieto is a Professor in the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology at the Faculty of Education, Universidad de Murcia. Her research focuses on developmental and educational psychology, with specialization in creativity and emotional intelligence among high-ability students. She earned her doctorate from Universidad de Murcia in 2007 with a thesis titled 'Creatividad e Inteligencia Emocional. Un estudio empírico en alumnos con altas habilidades', supervised by Dr. María Dolores Prieto Sánchez and Dr. Carmen Ferrándiz García.

Her primary research interests include cognitive development in gifted students, emotional regulation in educational contexts, and pedagogical strategies for talent development. She leads the 'High Skills' research group, investigating psychological profiles of exceptional learners.
