Dr Maria Livada is a Lecturer in Mechatronics (Education) and Programme Director of the Foundation Course at City, University of London, affiliated with the School of Science and Technology and the Department of Engineering. She holds a PhD and MSc in Control Theory and Systems and Control Engineering from City, University of London, and a Diploma in Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece.
Her research interests lie in the interdisciplinary domains of Control Theory, Network Theory, Modeling of Complex Systems, and Operations Research. She applies mathematical and systems-based approaches to analyze and control dynamical systems, with applications potentially spanning engineering, economics, and networked systems. Her work has been supported through participation in EU and Horizon 2020 research projects.
Dr Livada is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), reflecting her active engagement with the international engineering and control systems community.
She has previously held roles as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a Research Fellow at City's Systems and Control Research Centre, and teaching positions as Adjunct Lecturer at the University of West Attica and Associate Lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London. She is fluent in English, French, Greek, and Spanish.
