Maria Judnick is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Santa Clara University (SCU), College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches courses in sustainability, rhetoric, and creative writing, including the award-winning ENVS 95 course. Her work bridges environmental studies, pedagogy, and literature. From 2022–2024, she contributed to SCU’s sustainability strategic action plan inspired by 'Laudato Si'.' She has received Teaching with Technology grants and actively participates in campus initiatives like the spiritual labyrinth working group and community read committee.

Her writing spans flash fiction, poetry, and essays published in venues like 'Kairos' and 'The HeavyFeather Review.' She coordinates National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) institutes on Steinbeck and California immigrant experiences and previously managed SJSU’s Writing Center.
