Dr. Maria Jahromi is a Visiting Professor at the Australian National University's (ANU) Research School of Economics. Previously, she served as a Senior Lecturer in Economics at POLIS: The Centre for Social Policy Research (ANU). She holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Sydney (2015) and undergraduate degrees from ANU, including a BComm Hons and Dip Arts.
Her research focuses on financial crises, economic sanctions, socio-economic impacts of pandemics, Islamic finance, health economics, and education economics.
