Maria Gabryś-Heyke

Prof. Maria Gabryś-Heyke is the Head of the Chair of Early Music and Harpsichord at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, Poland. She holds a prominent role in the Department of Music Education, Choral Studies and Rhythmics. Her academic journey includes studies under Prof. Teresa Manasterska (Warsaw) and Prof. Ivan Klánsky (Lucerne), concluding with special distinction. She further specialized in historical performance practices under Prof. Jesper Christensen at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

Her professional activities span concert performance, chamber music, and pedagogy. Notable performances include appearances before the Japanese Imperial Family and engagements across Europe, South Korea, Japan, and the U.S. She has led masterclasses in Daejon, Busan (South Korea), and Luzern (Switzerland), and served as a jury member in major competitions like the International Chopin Competition (Marienbad) and RAHN Wettbewerb (Zurich).

Awarded top prizes in prestigious competitions (Beethoven, Edwin-Fischer, Mozart Prize), she has also received stipends from cultural institutions and foundations. Her teaching career at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music began in 2005, emphasizing early music and historical keyboard instruments.
