Maria G. Keyes serves as a Lecturer of Italian and UHS Italian Liaison within the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures at the University at Albany, teaching undergraduate courses and coordinating university-high school partnerships.

This interdisciplinary focus manifests in courses including Italian Contemporary Society, Italian Cinema, The Italian-American Experience, Italian Advanced Composition and Conversation, and Italian Civilization from Galileo to the Renaissance, emphasizing sociolinguistic and historical contexts.

Professional Service

As UHS Italian Liaison, she organizes an annual campus-based Italian teachers' workshop for high school educators, strengthening secondary-level Italian instruction through curriculum development resources and pedagogical collaboration with the University in the High School Program.
