Maria Ferraro is a Lecturer in the DAN Department of Management and Organizational Studies at Western University since 2006. She coordinates the Netherlands Semester Abroad Program, a faculty-led initiative for third-year students studying at Radboud University in the Netherlands. With over 16 years of private-sector experience in manufacturing and hospitality, her expertise spans management accounting, performance management, and occupational fraud. She teaches courses such as Enterprise Risk Management, Professionalism and Ethics, and Intermediate Accounting.
Education: MBA, MSc in Forensic Accounting, and professional designations including CPA (Canada, Australia), CGA (Canada), and ACCA (UK).
Recipient of multiple teaching awards, including the Edward G Pleva Award for Excellence in Teaching (2021-2022) and consecutive CMA Teaching Awards (2011-2015). She co-authored Managerial Accounting: First Canadian Edition (2011) with Wiley.
