Prof. Dr. Maria Bannert holds the Chair of Teaching and Learning with Digital Media at the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology, Technical University of Munich. She leads research on self-regulated learning, instructional design, and learning with digital media. Her work spans over 25 years with academic roles at the University of Heidelberg, Koblenz-Landau, Chemnitz, and Würzburg before joining TUM in 2015.

Research Focus: Promoting strategic learning with digital tools, metacognition, cognitive load theory, and virtual/augmented reality applications. Key projects include:
