Margot DENTAN is a Lecturer at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a doctoral student affiliated with PRODIG (UMR 8586). Her research centers on political geography and biodiversity governance in Mediterranean coastal ecosystems, with thematic emphasis on aquatic species monitoring, environmental data standardization, and socio-ecological tensions in lagoon environments.
Her doctoral thesis, supervised by Pierre GAUTREAU and Rutger DE WIT, investigates the co-construction of aquatic species monitoring systems for European eel and American blue crab in French Mediterranean lagoons. Key research issues include:
- Adoption of eDNA and new monitoring technologies
- Development of biodiversity indicators aligned with EU benchmarks
- Operational challenges in fisheries/water resource management
- Cross-border standardization of Mediterranean biodiversity assessments
