Margo Short

Margo Short, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pain and Perioperative Medicine at The University of Kansas Medical Center School of Medicine. She is also a board-certified Anesthesiologist at The University of Kansas Health System.

• Education: BS in Biological Science from the University of Missouri, MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center
• Training: Anesthesiology Residency at The University of Kentucky, Critical Care Fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center

Dr. Short’s research and clinical work focus on critical care medicine, perioperative management, and temperature regulation post-cardiac arrest. Her publications highlight intersections between anesthesiology, cardiovascular care during pandemics, and translational research methodologies.

Recent publications include analyses of therapeutic hypothermia protocols after cardiac arrest and investigations into cardiovascular complications in COVID-19 patients using integrated bench work and data science approaches.
