Margarida Lima Rego is a Full Professor and Director at the NOVA School of Law, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where she has taught since 2005. She is the scientific coordinator of the Doctorate in Law and previously co-founded and coordinated the Master’s in Law and Financial Markets (2015–2022). Her roles include teaching Law of Obligations, Hard Cases, and a Jean Monnet Module on EU Insurance Law, alongside leading Private Law seminars.

At CEDIS, NOVA School of Law’s R&D unit, she founded the NOVA Knowledge Centre for Data-Driven Law, integrating empirical analysis into legal scholarship. She contributes to EU insurance law challenges in the SDG era and addresses modernization in financial markets through a legal lens. Her work bridges doctrinal rigor with interdisciplinary methodologies.
