About
Marek Potemski is a Researcher (1st class) at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), France, and heads the Semiconductors and Nanophysics Group at the Grenoble High Magnetic Field Laboratory (LNCMI). He holds a habilitation from the University of Grenoble and has held visiting roles at institutions including the University of Warsaw and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. His research focuses on electronic properties of 2D systems and nanostructures under magnetic fields, with contributions to graphene studies.
Education: PhD from Polish Academy of Sciences (1986), habilitation from University of Grenoble (1997). Earlier career included roles at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences (1980–1991) and MPI-FKF, Germany (1987–1989).
Research interests span condensed matter physics, semiconductors, quantum Hall effects, and spin-dependent phenomena. He has pioneered optical spectroscopy studies in graphene and led international collaborations, resulting in over 300 peer-reviewed papers and an ERC Advanced Grant (2013).
Key honors include the Herzberg Memorial Prize (2003) and collaborative recognition from the Polish Academy of Sciences (1989). His work has advanced graphene physics and magnetic field techniques, with applications in nanotechnology and materials science.
