Marco Schaerf is a Full Professor at Sapienza University of Rome, Department of Computer, Control, and Management Engineering. He previously held roles as Associate Professor at the University of Cagliari (1992–1994) and Sapienza (1994–2000). He chairs the Engineering Information Area in Latina and serves on the editorial boards of Artificial Intelligence Journal and Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research. His research focuses on artificial intelligence, nonmonotonic reasoning, computational complexity, digital libraries, and bibliometrics. Notably, he received the 1997 AI*IA Award for Best Young Researcher in AI.
