Marco Colombo

Marco Colombo is a Researcher at the University of Leeds (UK), affiliated with the NRG Alumni program. He holds an MSc (2009) and PhD (2013) in nuclear engineering-related fields. His research focuses on advanced reactor systems, thermal hydraulics in energy systems, and risk-informed methodologies for nuclear infrastructure.

His MSc thesis explored dynamic modeling of supercritical water cycles in lead-cooled fast reactors (LFR), while his PhD investigated two-phase flow dynamics in helical coil steam generators through experimental and numerical approaches. He has contributed to projects involving circulating-fuel reactor power plants and Gen IV reactor technologies.
