Marcin Markowski

Dr. Marcin Markowski is a faculty member at the University of the Arts Poznań (UAP), affiliated with the Faculty of Graphic Arts and the Department of Poster Design. He is actively involved in research and practice at the intersection of graphic design and cultural production.

• Acting head of the First Poster Studio laboratory
• Collaborates with major cultural institutions: Polish Theatre in Poznań, National Museum in Poznań, Zamek Cultural Centre, and international entities like the Shenzhen International Poster Festival

Research Focus: Expanding traditional poster design into digital, spatial, and multimedia formats. Explores tensions between modernity/tradition, sacred/profane, and the evolution of visual communication through projects like Eternal April and Dr@cula. Vagina Dentata.

Notable Contributions: Redesigned the BWA Municipal Gallery logo in Bydgoszcz, created animated posters for performances, and integrated design with theatrical productions. His work interrogates the boundaries of poster design through interventions like transforming static posters into actions (e.g., children's workshops on painted fences).
