Marcin Bogusławski

Dr. Marcin Bogusławski is a Lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, affiliated with the Faculty of Sculpture. Since 2018, he has served as an assistant to Professor Mariusz Woszczyński in the Studio of Painting and Drawing, following his prior role (2014–2017) as assistant to Professor Edward Tarkowski in the Studio of Mural Painting Techniques and Technology.

His educational background includes a 2006 diploma from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Professor Stanisław Baj, with mural painting specialization supervised by Professor Edward Tarkowski. He earned his Doctor of Fine Arts degree in 2022 and held scholarships from Falmouth College of Art (UK) and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

Bogusławski specializes in mural painting techniques, particularly sgraffito, fresco, and mosaic. His research focuses on monumental art execution, abstract easel painting in oil, and the intersection of historical techniques with contemporary design. Notable projects include 229.5 m² of sgraffito at the National Library of Poland and 144 m² at the Main Library of the Mazovian Voivodeship.

He maintains an active exhibition practice with numerous solo and group shows, documented through his portfolio at www.sgraffito.pl. His work demonstrates technical mastery in large-scale public art while exploring emotional and natural inspirations in abstract formats.

Bogusławski has executed over 85 murals across Poland, adorning institutions like the Andrzej Wajda Film Culture Center and historic sites including the medieval tower at Marshal Małachowski High School in Płock. His practice bridges academic scholarship with hands-on artistic creation.
