Marcin Amadeusz Maron

Marcin Amadeusz Maron is a distinguished Polish academic and artist serving as Professor in the Department of Digital Media Art at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Faculty of Arts. Since 2002, he has progressed from assistant to professor (2025), while actively contributing to cinematic scholarship and photography exhibitions.

His 15 most recent publications (2019-2024) analyze Polish cinema through lenses of Gnostic philosophy, Walter Benjamin’s allegory theory, and political psychology, particularly focusing on directors like Andrzej Żuławski, Wojciech Has, and Mieczysław Jahoda. He has received multiple institutional awards including the PAN Polish Society for Film and Media Studies Award (2019) and UMCS Rector's Awards (2016, 2021, 2024).

As an educator, he teaches film history and photography at UMCS, leads doctoral seminars since 2021, and contributes to international film education initiatives like the Polish Film Academy. His artistic exhibitions (Paris 2025, Lublin 2024, Zamość 2018) showcase photographic explorations of urban spaces and cultural memory.
