Prof. Marcel Snippe is a Professor of Formal Tax Law at Nyenrode Business Universiteit, affiliated with the Faculty Expertise Center Corporate Reporting, Finance & Tax. Since 1997, he has contributed to tax law education and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of accountancy and tax law. As a department coordinator in the Master's program in Tax Law since 2019, he focuses on aligning taxation systems with SME ecosystems to simplify tax obligations for entrepreneurs.
His professional activities include strategic advising for the Ministry of Finance/Tax Administration, leading an OECD project on international tax compliance, and serving as a reserve officer (Lieutenant Colonel) in the Department of Defense. He also engages in humanitarian work, including well-drilling projects in Africa and supporting global tax authorities.
Snippe holds degrees in Accountancy, Tax Law, and Information Management. Beyond academia, he actively participates in church and charitable foundations, serving as a deacon, treasurer, and advisory board member. His interests include long-distance hiking, running, and intellectual challenges.
