Dr. Marcel Ramalho is Professor of Voice and Director of Choral Ensembles in the Department of Music at Augusta University. Previously, he held positions as Adjunct Instructor of Voice at Earlham College and Applied Voice Instructor/Graduate Assistant Conductor at Ball State University.
His research focuses on Brazilian composer José Siqueira, vocal pedagogy, and choral repertoire. He has published in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Singing and Revista da ABEM, and frequently presents at international music conferences.
As a performer, Dr. Ramalho has sung principal roles in operas by Mozart, Puccini, and Berlioz, and soloed in sacred works by Bach and Fauré. His performance expertise directly informs his teaching methodology in vocal and choral instruction.
He holds a Doctor of Arts degree from Ball State University with dual specializations in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting.
