Marcel Cornis-Pope is a Professor of English and Media Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where he has been affiliated since 1991. He previously served as Chair of the Department of English (2000-2006) and Director of the Interdisciplinary PhD Program in Media, Art, and Text (2006-2010). His academic career spans institutions in the U.S. and Romania, including roles as Associate Professor (1988-1991) and Assistant Professor (1968-1977) at the University of Timişoara.
