Marc Weissburg

Marc Weissburg is a Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in marine community ecology, predator-prey dynamics, and chemical communication with applications in coastal infrastructure resilience.

His research centers on Marine Community Ecology and Predator-Prey Dynamics through chemical signaling mechanisms, applying Ecological Network Analysis (ENA) to model climate change impacts on coastal food-energy-water systems. He investigates how ecological principles can enhance infrastructure sustainability by analyzing network structure, material flows, and resilience thresholds.

As Principal Investigator for the "Resilient and sustainable coastal infrastructure" project, he develops frameworks using ENA to design adaptive coastal systems that maintain functionality under environmental stressors, bridging theoretical ecology with practical urban sustainability solutions.
