Marc Perkins

Marc Perkins is a project researcher at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research (University of Jyväskylä), specializing in higher education leadership and crisis management. Previously, he served as a Professor of Biological Sciences at Orange Coast College in California for 20 years, focusing on organismal biology education. His current roles include leadership in the Higher Education Studies Team and participation in research seminars on education policy.

Education: M.Sc. in Educational Sciences (University of Jyväskylä) and M.Sc. in Biology. His research employs qualitative methods such as art-based approaches and reflective journals to explore sensitive topics like employee well-being in academia.

Projects include the AHJO initiative on academic well-being, the EDUCA flagship addressing future education challenges, and the KKJKT project on crisis leadership in Finnish higher education institutions. His work emphasizes organizational resilience and practical crisis management strategies.
