About
Mara Reis is a PhD student at the University of Bielefeld, affiliated with the Center for Biotechnology (CeBiTec) and the Computational Biology Group. She holds a Bachelor of Science (2018) and Master of Science (2020) in Biology from the University of Rostock, with thesis work focused on plant stress responses and manganese homeostasis in cyanobacteria.
Her research explores the role of the manganese exporter Mnx in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 under high light stress. She has also investigated the role of PARGH during drought stress in Solanum tuberosum. Her work bridges molecular biology, bioinformatics, and environmental stress response mechanisms.
Mara can be reached at her office in room UHG G2-136 or via email at mara.reis@uni-bielefeld.de. Her research contributes to understanding metal homeostasis in photoautotrophs and its implications for plant and microbial adaptation.
