Mara Mauri Jacobsen is a retired Continuing Lecturer in the Department of Italian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, affiliated with the Division of Arts & Humanities. She holds a Ph.D. in Italian from UC Berkeley and a Laurea in History and Philosophy from the University of Milan. Her research focuses on diverse aspects of Italian culture, including language, literature, history, film, philosophy, politics, feminist theory, and the role of media in contemporary Italian society.
