Manès Weisskircher

Dr. Manès Weisskircher is a leading researcher in political science, specializing in far-right politics, social movements, and democracy studies. He currently leads the BMBF-funded research group REXKLIMA (Far-right politics versus climate action?) at TU Dresden’s Institute of Political Science. He is affiliated with the Center for Research on Extremism (C-REX) at the University of Oslo and the Center for Civil Society Research at WZB Berlin. Holding a PhD from the European University Institute (2019), his work bridges academic research and policy analysis.

His research focuses on far-right party strategies, electoral dynamics, and the intersection of climate policy with right-wing ideologies. Notable projects include analyzing the AfD’s rise in Germany, the transnational dimensions of far-right activism, and the impact of social movements on political systems. He has published extensively in top journals like the European Journal of Political Research and Party Politics.

Dr. Weisskircher’s articles (2023–2025) reflect a thematic focus on far-right mobilization around climate obstruction, anti-genderism, and migration politics, alongside the evolving strategies of populist parties in Europe.
