Manos Ioannis is a Professor at the Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies within the School of Economic and Regional Studies at the University of Macedonia. His academic titles include a BA in History and Archaeology, an MA in Social Anthropology, and a PhD in Social Anthropology.

Research Interests: Political anthropology, nationalism and ethnicity, border regions, dance anthropology, social theory, culture and politics, social movements, human and minority rights, social change, epistemology, methodology, teaching anthropology, applied anthropology, and Southeastern Europe.
Publications: His work spans ethnographic research in border areas, identity politics in Greece and the Balkans, dance anthropology, and the interplay between cultural practices and political processes. He has contributed to interdisciplinary discussions on marginalized languages and ethnographic fieldwork methodologies.
