Manel Martinez-Ramon is the King Felipe VI Endowed Chair and Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He previously held academic roles at Universidad de Alcalá, Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, including administrative positions such as Associate Provost for Infrastructures and Environment, Associate Dean of the Politécnic School, and Director of Teaching Management. His expertise spans Machine Learning applications in signal processing, neuroimaging, and telecommunications.
Education:

- MS in Telecommunication Engineering, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (1994)
Research & Awards: His over 70 peer-reviewed publications focus on Machine Learning applications in cognitive radio, smart grids, and neuroimaging. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at UNM’s MIND Institute (2003-2004) and actively collaborates with UNM faculty. He received the 1999 University Award for Best PhD in Telecom Technologies.
Teaching: Over 15 years, he taught 30+ courses in Electronics, Signal Processing, and Telecommunications, exclusively in English within bilingual engineering programs in Spain.
