Mandy Link

Mandy Link is an Associate Professor of Modern European History and Graduate Advisor at the University of Texas at Tyler, Department of History. She holds a B.A. in History from the University of Montana, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Washington State University.

Research Focus: Her work centers on Irish experiences during World War I and the memorialization efforts in the Irish Free State. Her 2019 monograph, Remembrance of the Great War in the Irish Free State, 1914–1937: Specters of Empire, examines how war memory intersected with decolonization and national identity. Her current research explores gender and memorialization in the UK and Ireland. She co-edited the 2024 volume New Perspectives on the First World War: Beyond No Man's Land, analyzing global themes like gender, race, and the environment.

Teaching: She teaches courses on World Wars, women’s roles in conflict, Modern Ireland, British Empire, and 19th–20th century European history. Her interests extend to war memory, gender studies, and empire.

Publications: Key works include her monograph and edited collection, with chapters focusing on Irish military history, civil war trauma, and commemoration practices. Her research bridges historical analysis with broader themes of identity and decolonization.
