Manabu Fujii

Manabu Fujii is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the School of Environment and Society, Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology). He leads the Manabu Fujii Lab, focusing on interdisciplinary environmental research.

Research Interests: The lab specializes in three interconnected themes:

• Water Environment Assessment: Developing technologies for evaluating water ecosystems and pollution dynamics using advanced mass spectrometry and data science.
• Water Treatment Technology: Creating sustainable solutions for contaminant removal (including PFAS), anaerobic digestion, and nanomaterial applications.
• Sustainability Assessment: Examining global challenges like climate change and pandemics through integrated socio-environmental research frameworks.

Recent Publication Trends: Analysis of the last 15 publications shows dominant focus on environmental chemistry (67%), water treatment innovations (50%), and analytical method development (33%), with increasing use of machine learning and high-resolution mass spectrometry techniques since 2020.
