Mamta Naik

Mamta Naik is a Senior Lecturer and PGCE Primary Programme Lead at Manchester Metropolitan University's School of Education. She specializes in primary mathematics education, teacher training, and educational research. Her work focuses on enhancing mathematics teaching methods and supporting student teachers' professional development. Naik has over 15 years of experience in higher education, having previously served as a class teacher, school improvement consultant, and partnership coordinator.

Her research explores student teachers' mathematical identities and the application of new materialist frameworks to reimagine mathematics pedagogy. She holds an MSc in STEM Learning and is completing a doctorate on innovative approaches to teaching mathematics. Naik is an active member of the British Society for Research into Learning Mathematics (BSRLM).

Teaching responsibilities include leading the BA (Hons) Primary Education with Mathematics and PGCE programmes, emphasizing interactive and reflective practices. Her research has been presented at national conferences, including the 2016 BSRLM conference in Manchester.
