Malihe Alikhani is an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University's Khoury College of Computer Sciences and member of the Northeastern Ethics Institute. Her research develops safe and fair AI systems with applications in communication accessibility, healthcare, and education. Award-winning work includes innovations in sign language processing and ethical AI frameworks.
Research interests span sign language technologies, multimodal systems for healthcare communication, and bias mitigation in AI. Current projects develop tools for signed language inclusion in NLP systems and decision-support systems for healthcare.
