Maksym Obrizan is a Research Fellow at the Chair of Health Economics, part of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He has held this position since January 2013, focusing on health economics research, including early-life conditions and later-life outcomes, private health insurance markets, and climate change effects on human health. Additionally, he has served as an Assistant Professor at the Kyiv School of Economics since earning his PhD in Economics from the University of Iowa in May 2010.
- His research includes contributions to the AHEAD research group at the University of Iowa, with publications in biomedical journals on older adults' health and emergency department utilization.
- He collaborated with Dr. George Wehby on global health expenditures and life expectancy using quantile regression.
- He is also engaged in quantitative macroeconomics, with a forthcoming paper in Macroeconomic Dynamics on government shares in economic systems.
