Makan Fardad is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Syracuse University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science. He holds a BSc from Sharif University of Technology, an MSc from Iran University of Science and Technology, and a PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research focuses on convex optimization, complex networks, dynamical systems, and control theory, with applications in distributed control, sensor networks, and adversarial systems.

Research Interests include sparsity-promoting control, network design, and cybersecurity in power grids. He teaches graduate-level courses such as ELE 703 and contributes to software tools for network optimization.
