Majid Hashemi

Majid Hashemi is a Term Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Queen's University. His work focuses on energy economics, cost-benefit analysis, and development policy evaluation. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Clemson University, USA. His research addresses issues such as electricity reliability, renewable energy policies, and socio-economic impacts of climate change. He currently teaches economics courses at Queen's University.

Research interests include energy market regulation, valuation of unsupplied electricity, and the social implications of carbon pricing. His recent studies have analyzed power outage costs in Nepal, rooftop solar investment in developing nations, and stakeholder dynamics in renewable energy support mechanisms.

Hashemi has contributed to global development projects, including cost-benefit analyses for agricultural value chains in Rwanda, Senegal, and Liberia, and prioritization frameworks for public infrastructure in Vietnam. His work often bridges microeconomic theory with real-world policy applications, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
