Maja Tampe

Maja Tampe is an Associate Professor at the Department of Society, Politics and Sustainability at ESADE Business School, where she also serves as Academic Director of the MSc in Sustainability Management. She is affiliated with the GRIIS (Grupo de Investigación en Innovación Social) and IIS (Instituto de Innovación Social) research institutes. Her research focuses on private governance and sustainability, particularly the implementation of sustainability standards in global agricultural contexts. Tampe holds a PhD in Management from MIT Sloan School of Management, a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster.

Her professional experience includes strategy consulting at McKinsey and organizational development work with Fortune 100 companies. Key research themes include transnational sustainability demands, organizational change, and the mediation of environmental and social policies in developing countries. Recent publications explore climate adaptation strategies, regenerative business models, and frameworks for rural supply chain sustainability in Europe.
